Media Wall - Merging Fireplace with Multimedia
Mounting a TV above a fireplace isn't just a figment of an imaginative client. It has become a pivotal design element in many contemporary interiors. However, the compatibility of the fireplace with multimedia elements is crucial. Fortunately, fireplaces equipped with BEV technology are suitable for this setting.

Selecting the Right Fireplace for a Multimedia Setting
When choosing a fireplace for your multimedia wall, it’s essential to opt for the right model. Planika's offerings, like FLA 3, Prime Fire, Neo, and Senso, along with the Panorama and Forma models, are specially designed for such settings. These models come with special features like casings and deflectors that protect surrounding areas and devices from heat. Always heed the manufacturer's guidelines on the distance between the fireplace and any electronics.

Distinguishing Features of Panorama and Forma
The Panorama stands out with its fully glass-enclosed design with pipes that effectively redirect hot air. In contrast, Forma is distinguished by its open hearth in the casing, which (as in Panorama) utilizes a two-layer construction with an air gap for insulation, keeping its outer layer cool. Do note that Forma fireplaces, depending on the type of arrangement, have either 50mm or 200 mm tall glass panels, providing a unique aesthetic touch. Both of these products allow flammable materials and TV sets to be safely placed around them.

Glass Paneling and Enclosures
Fireplace inserts like the FLA 3 and Prime Fire have specific glass panels that serve more than just an aesthetic purpose; they help in controlling airflow. Planika offers seven types of Forma enclosures, each catering to distinct design requirements. The Senso and Neo models offer similar enclosures, albeit with fewer design options. Each type has its prescribed safe distance from multimedia equipment and requires a deflector for added safety.

Due to customer needs, the Planika brand has created seven different types of Forma enclosures, offering many design possibilities. : Single-sided, Left Corner, Right Corner, Three-sided, Tunnel, Room Divider, Island.

Safe Distance Protocols
Mounting a TV above a fireplace demands caution. Whether placing the TV in a recess or using a deflector shelf, a minimum safe distance must be maintained, usually around 900mm. Materials used should also be non-combustible to prevent fire hazards.

Venting Systems for Optimal Heat Management
For clients wanting proximity between the TV and fireplace closer than 900 mm, a hot air exhaust system can be the solution. This system diverts hot air away from the TV, ensuring it doesn't overheat. Remember, materials used in these settings should be heat-resistant.

Alternative Arrangements
If mounting a TV above the fireplace isn't ideal, placing it beside it is a trendy alternative. Here, the minimum distance required varies based on the fireplace design, ranging from 200mm to 400mm.

Choosing the Right Materials
Safety is paramount. When constructing around a burner, use only non-combustible materials like ceramics, stone, or heat-resistant glass. These materials ensure the area remains safe from potential fire hazards. Always consult local regulations to ensure compliance. If you want to use combustible materials like wood or furniture boards, choose our Forma casing fireplace.
