Chair Ligiton designed by Nikita Lastovsky

The idea of Ligiton chair design came about completely by accident. One day, on another work day, I started to design new pieces of furniture. It was a purely commercial story with a clear and practical design.

During the whole day, I made a lot of sketches, but I did not like any of the design ideas. Tired and unable to generate ideas while listening to music, I chaotically drew lines on paper. They were totally uncomplicated images that barely related to furniture design.

When unconsciously drawing another figure, I saw an object that looked vaguely like a chair but was not. I don't know why, but I really liked what I saw. This drawing inspired me, and I was instantly full of energy and enthusiasm again.

I took a lot of paper and began, sketch by sketch, to create a practical, thoughtful chair design based on that chaotic sketch. The final design of the piece was very striking. I had no idea that on that day, instead of planned projects, I would accidentally create a work of art.

Despite its accidental appearance, the Ligiton chair expresses the true philosophy of the Lastovsky brand—sexuality, strictness, and elegance. Although not planned, these qualities are evident in the object's simple lines and lacquered silhouette.
