WROOM Furniture: Motorcycle Heritage Meets Outdoor Design
The story of WROOM Furniture began when founder Anders Bach-Sørensen, driven by a passion for Motor Classics, acquired a custom-built motorcycle from Copenhagen-based custom workshop Wrenchmonkees. The motorcycle was number #79 of just 85 handcrafted examples – a piece of functional art, where every detail was created with uncompromising precision.
Anders was fascinated by the clean lines, raw materials and industrial elegance that define classic motorcycles. He saw an opportunity to translate the same aesthetic into outdoor furniture and create an entirely new design language within outdoor design.
To bring the idea to life, he reached out to Nicholas Bech, co-founder and creative force behind Wrenchmonkees. Building on Anders’ vision, Nicholas translated the idea into a distinctive design expression, and the first prototypes were set in motion. It was during this process that the name WROOM also emerged – a fusion of the sound of a vehicle accelerating and the word ROOM. With it, the foundation for WROOM Furniture as a brand was laid.
This became the starting point for WR#01 – a collection in which the proportions and robust steel tubing are inspired by the distinctive exhaust pipes of classic motorcycles. The bold dimensions of the tubing create a masculine, industrial expression and a strong visual identity, while the clean lines give the furniture a timeless and contemporary character.
WR#01 is therefore more than a furniture collection. It is the meeting of two design worlds, driven by a shared passion for iconic design, uncompromising craftsmanship and functionality.
